Vaishno Devi History

Nearly about 700 years ago there was a pandit named as  Shirdhar,  who pray daily for Jai Maa Vaishno Devi.  He also worship little girls (Kanya Pujan) regularly. For many years, he worshipped for Jai Maa Vaishno Devi. After a long time Maa Vaishno Devi came in front of him in a form a little girl. It is said that after many years of worship, Mata Vaishno Devi came to him in a form of little girl.
It is said that once he was engaged in her daily Puja for Jai Maa Vaishno Devi and Kanya Pujan. Many little girls were seated and Mata Vaishno Devi also seated in form of little girl. When he was washing feet for all the girls, then he saw this beautiful girl. When all the other girls returned to their home, then she was seated in her place. Pandit got confused and he wanted to enquire but before he could say anything to Mata Vaishno Devi. Jai Maa Vaishno Devi said that call people from all the neighboring villages and have a collective lunch named as Bhandhara. After saying this, Mata Vaishno Devi got disappeared. Pandit Shridhar invited all the people as asked by Mata Vaishno Devi. He thought how he will arrange food and seating arrangements for so many people; but Jai Maa Vaishno Devi ki, who made all the arrangements. Many people sat in the hut of the Pandit but still some space was left. It was hard to believe that how all the people were accommodated but that is called as Mahima of Mata Vaishno Devi.

Bhairavnath also came to this hut and asked for wine and non-veg. Jai Maa Vaishno Devi said how can you have wine and non-veg in a Brahmin’s hut and then she disappeared. Then through strong meditation, Mata Vaishno Devi appeared before him and he saw her in the Trikoot hills. Where she cut the head of Bhairavnath and his head fell on the place where the temple is called as Bharavnath Mandir. She also blessed his soul and forgave him for all his sins. She also granted the wish that whoever will come to Mata Vaishno Devi will also go for darshan of Bharavnath. Jai Maa Vaishno Devi also showed her the path to the holy cave where Shridhar saw all the Shakti of Maa Kali, Saraswati and Lakhshmi. This way we all came to know Jai Maa Vaishno Devi.
